Fountainhead State Park Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Checotah, Oklahoma.
The course was designed by Floyd Farley and opened for play in 1964.
The front nine is heavily tree lined, and the back nine is open. This tight course has many undulating fairways, large sloping greens, and well-placed sand bunkers. Views of Lake Eufaula provide the backdrop for the 12th hole, a 200-yard par three, and a pond in the front of the sloping green protects the landing area of the signature par-five ninth hole.
The most demanding hole is #2, a par 5, with an undulating and narrow, dogleg fairway.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,919 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,887 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 558 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 175 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 432-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Fountainhead State Park is # 18, a 180 yard par-3.
