The City of King City is a small community nestled between the Tualatin River and the south slope of Bull Mountain in Washington County, Oregon. King City was incorporated in 1966. The city's population is approx. 2700.
This fairly flat course has a few hills, but it is still very walkable. A water hazard comes into play off the tee for longer hitters on hole #7, and must be navigated on the second shot for others. The hole is a par 5, measuring 410 yards from the back tees, and the lake sits about 300 yards out. Sand bunkers protect the front left and right sides of the kidney-shaped green.
King City Golf Course is a short and basic 9 hole golf course heavily lined with homes. The course is designed to serve the golfers in the community, and many of them take advantage of their backyard links. This Par 34 course, has a standard four Par 4’s but just one Par 5, and all are rather modest in distance.
Houses and bunkers are the main obstacles to avoid throughout. There are also a fair amount of trees. The greens run slow on average, and provide modest breaks. Unless you can clearly see slope, you can expect a pretty straight roll. This simple little course provides an ideal round for residents and newcomers to the game. It’s also conducive for all golfers to practice their short irons and wedges.
