Detailed description

St. Helens Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Warren, Oregon.

St. Helens Golf Course first opened for play in 1957. The course was designed by Clarence Johnson and Gordon Johnson.

St. Helens Golf Course has a unique mixture of holes, with 7 Par 4's, along with a single Par 3 and Par 5. Many holes have severe doglegs, allowing longer hitters the ability to cut the corner and drive the green on more than one Par 4. Another oddity is the Par 4 7th Hole. There is no variation of cuts, the fairway and the rough are the same length. The greens tend to roll on the slow side, and can be a bit bumpy.

The 9-hole course plays to 2,977 yards and a par of 36. The course rating is 70.3 and the slope is 116. From the forward tees the course measures 2668 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 523 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 156 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 1, a 523 yard par-5 challenge and the #2 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 7, a 250 yard par-4.

St. Helens Golf Course is great for beginners. The terrain is fairly flat, and there are only a few sand bunkers on the course. In addition, a creek comes into play on two holes. There are additional tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.
