Detailed description

West Shore Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

West Shore Country Club first opened for play in 1929. The original architect is unknown. However, the layout is in the design and style of Donald Ross.

In 1943, Ed Tabor joined the West Shore Country Club and served as both golf course superintendent and golf professional. From 1943 to 1961, Ed implemented the Ross style by reconstructing, shaping and redesigning all of our greens, bunkers, and fairways into the course we enjoy today. Ed trained under the watchful eye of John Davidson who worked on many famed courses during his years with Donald Ross.

In 2003, a bunker renovation was completed under the supervision of course architect, Gil Hanse.

This is an old, undulating, tree-lined course with water and sand coming into play many times. The course's signature hole is #9, a 176-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to the green. Additionally, you must avoid a huge sand bunker lining the entire hole from the tee to the water hazard.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,568 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,221 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 17, a par-5 that plays to 543 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 18, a par-3 that plays to 173 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 539-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at West Shore is # 15, a 309 yard par-4.
