Detailed description

Edgmont Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Edgmont, Pennsylvania.

Edgmont Country Club opened for play in 1963. The course was designed by Nazz Mariani.

Golfers at Edgemont will enjoy majestic views of the 2600 acre Ridley Creek State Park - which borders the property on two sides - while playing a great tree lined course with water in play on several holes and changes in elevation throughout.

Edgmont is centrally located between Media, Malvern and West Chester on the border between Delaware County and Chester County Pennsylvania.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,537 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,503 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 513 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 186 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 2, a 405-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 186-yard par-3.

The course closed, March 2016.

On March 26, 2016, the golf course hosted a farewell tournament before officially closing its doors on March 28, 2016, the day after Easter Sunday. The owners filed for bankruptcy in October 2013, and despite attempts by the course professional to lease the golf course for continued use, Ridgewood Real Estate Partners opted to transform the land into a residential development.

From all accounts, the course was in great shape and financially was at break even or better. However, the value conversion for residential property was more alluring than break even, or even.
