Mr. Tillinghast is revered for such famous designs as Baltusrol, Winged Foot, and the San Francisco Club; hosts to many of golf's premiere events. Renamed in the 1940s, New Castle Country Club offers a challenge to golfers of all levels. The last decade has afforded the Club the honor of the best greens one year and the best fairways another year in Western Pennsylvania.

In July of 2007, New Castle Country Club was honored to be placed at #50 on John Garrity's Top 50 Courses in the World. NCCC shared this honor with such remarkable courses as Pebble Beach and Augusta National. The 6,600-yard challenge has stood the test of time and remains one of Western Pennsylvania's "hidden gems."

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,657 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,690 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 592 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, the 592 yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at New Castle Country Club is # 2, the short 159 yard par-3.
