RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
RiverCrest Golf Club first open3ed for play in 2004. The course was designed by Ron Coruzzi.
Ron’s design is strategic in nature and tests players of all skill levels. The course at plays to 6,869-yard from the back tees and has a par of 72. RiverCrest is likened to the courses of Scotland and Ireland. The site is a fine mixture of undulating open ground and wooded hills that fit the landscape naturally; the course is routed to flow over the land, with native grasses and plants as buffers between the “links†style holes built in the open. The areas of maintained turf will be minimal, emphasizing the manicured playing surfaces. Both the hand-mown USGA greens and the cross cut fairways are bentgrass. Bluegrass is used for the primary rough while a combination of native grasses and fescue are the primary elements featured in the secondary rough and natural areas.
The course has a considerable amount of variety, as no two holes will be the same in shot requirements or esthetic appearance. As an example, each of the par threes are laid out at different lengths and the tee shots are in different directions providing varying wind and sun effects. The par fives range from just over 500 yards to the monstrous 604 yard 16th.
The tees range from 4,541 yards to 6,869 yards. The tees at 4,541 yards are located near the fairway on each hole and are designed for beginners, women, and junior golfers.
