Detailed description

Alpine Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Cranston, Rhode Island.

The course first opened for play in 1960. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish.

The course was built on mostly flat terrain, but there are a few mounds that can cause uneven lies. The fairways are wide open. The Wind frequently becomes a factor, so proper club selection is at a premium during these times. Water comes into play on three holes. The large greens typically slope from front to back.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6715 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5901 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 553 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 9, a par-3 that plays to 155 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 453-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 173 yard par-3.

Locals say that most difficult hole on the course is #18, a long 438-yard, par 4, requiring a long tee shot up a slight dogleg fairway, then an approach shot to a well-bunkered green.
