Detailed description

Silverwood Golf Course is an 18 hole golf course located along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River,  in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The course first opened for play in 1987.

Silverwood Golf Course is a par 3 18-hole golf course. The course takes about two hours to play, making it great for a quick round of golf or for tuning up your short game.

Every one of the slightly elevated and subtly contoured greens has some combination of water, sand and/or trees lurking nearby.  Some greens have severe slopes and undulations calling for good putting perception.

The fairways are all kept in good condition due to the four large irrigation ponds, that run through the heart of the course.

The Silverwood Lake 9 has water in play for a total of seven of the nine holes and the River 9 has breathtaking views of the South Saskatchewan River from five of the holes.

Perhaps the toughest hole is #16, a 171-yard, par 3, which contains heavy penalties for missing the green.  Not only is the green well protected by strategically-placed bunkers, but if your tee shot veers right, you will find yourself in a deep valley with a very difficult recovery shot.

The course is popular with anyone who wants to sharpen their short game or get in eighteen holes before work or after supper. The course plays to a par 54 and 2,586 yards (ladies measure 2,102 yards).
