Port Royal Golf Club is a Resort, 54 hole golf facility located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The facility has three 18-hole golf courses. They are the Barony Golf Course, Robber's Row Golf Course, and the Planter's Row Golf Course. All three courses are alternated so that one is for members only, and the other two are open to the public.
The Barony Golf Course at Port Royal Golf Club first opened for play in 1963. The course was designed by George Cobb.
The Barony Course plays alongside the Atlantic Ocean. The Wind frequently comes into play, so selecting the proper club will become a major part of the game. The risk-reward approaches to the greens bring some challenges and the small greens that are protected by thick rough and unforgiving bunkers call for a skillful touch with the mid and short irons. The key to scoring well at this course is accuracy and not length.
