Sedgewood Country Club, CLOSED 2018

Sedgewood Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Hopkins, South Carolina.

Sedgewood Country Club first opened for play in 1960. The course was designed by Russell Breeden.

The front nine is more open than the back nine. The back nine was built on hilly terrain and features more dogleg fairways. Water comes into play on several holes. The layout has 3 sets of tee boxes for a fun but challenging golfing experience.

Blue tees: par-72, 6,767 yard
White tees: par-72, 6,031 yards
Red tees: par-72, 4,847 yards

The course was closed in 2018.

In 2019 the property was purchased by Cottle Farms. 

Cottle Farms has operated a U-pick strawberry farm near Columbia, SC, for more than 40 years, has purchased the Sedgewood Country Club golf course.

The family plans to move its U-pick operation from the 15-acre farm at 2533 Trotter Road in Hopkins to the golf course, which is located about four miles away at 9560 Garners Ferry Road.

The 182-acre tract will allow the farm to expand its family-oriented business into festivals, school programs, and other activities that would make the farm an agritourism destination, owner Joy Cottle said.
