Carolina Lakes Golf Course first opened for play in 1954. The course was designed by Ed Riccoboni.
The fairways are wide open, and the terrain is mostly flat. Ponds, lakes and streams come into play on seven holes. The greens break to the left and are difficult to read at times.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,495 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,852 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 517 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 18, a par-3 that plays to 163 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 424-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 18, a 163 yard par-3.
#12, a 303-yard, par 4, featuring a water hazard on the left and a ravine in front of the green. There is no room for error on this short hole.
