Aberdeen Links Golf Course is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
The course dates to 1926. The course was designed by Thomas Vardon.
The course has mature trees lining the narrow fairways and greens. Water hazards come into play on almost every hole. The greens are fast.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6,066 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,889 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 548 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 139 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 548 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 163 yard par-3.
Aberdeen Links closed for play in 2001. The course was bulldozed. In its place was built a residential community with a 9-hole golf course. The new golf course is Rolling Hills Golf Course. Although build on land that was once Aberdeen Links, none of the old course layout or holes were retained.
