Southern Hills Golf Course

Southern Hills Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located 50 miles south of Rapid City, just south of Custer State Park in Hot Springs in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Southern Hills Golf Course first opened for play in 1977 as a 9-hole course. The course was expanded to 18-holes in 2005. The course was designed by Richard Phelps.

Southern Hills Golf Course is a well-rounded combination of playability and aesthetic appeal that makes your golf game more enjoyable than any other course. Native Mule deer, wild turkey and cottontail rabbits abound around the course...and the occasional sighting of the wiley red-tail fox interact with the rolling terrain, ravines and majestic Ponderosa Pines at Southern Hills Golf Course.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 5,905 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,575 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 557 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 139 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 11, a 338 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Southern Hills Golf Course is # 1, a 355 yard par-4.
