TPC at Southwind is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Memphis, Tennessee and is the home of the PGA TOUR’s FedEx St. Jude Classic.
TPC at Southwind first opened for play in 1970.The course was designed by Ron Prichard.
Among the most memorable holes at TPC Southwind are:
#11, a 165-yard, par-3, considered by some to be a smaller version of the famous 17th Island Green at TPC Sawgrass, forcing a short iron over water to a small island green.
#14, a 231-yard, par-3 consistently ranked one of the toughest par-3 holes on the PGA TOUR – which requires a long iron or wood tee to a narrow green protected by water along the entire right side of the undulating green.
#18, the course’s 461-yard, par-4 finishing hole, requiring a tee shot played alongside a water hazard that protects the entire left side of the fairway.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 7,006 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,146 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 528 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 146 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 450 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 146 yard par-3.
