Detailed description

Ted Rhodes Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Nashville, Tennessee along the banks of the Cumberland River.

Ted Rhodes Golf Course first opened for play in 1954 as a 9-hole course named Cumberland Golf course. Gary Baird redesigned this course in 1993 expanding the layout to 18 holes.

The course was named after the first African-American to play in a PGA-sanctioned event.

The fairways are wide open and its greens are elevated and very large. Water hazards come into play on five holes. This is a links style course.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,660 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,035 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 555 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 9, a par-3 that plays to 174 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 7, a 441-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The hole requires a tee shot over a large ditch. The easiest hole is # 11, a 337 yard par-4.
