Detailed description

Barton Creek Resort -Fazio Foothills, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Austin, Texas.

The Fazio Foothills Golf Course first opened for play in 1986. The course was designed by Tom Fazio.

Natural limestone caves, waterfalls and fairways lined with dramatic cliffs and native trees all contribute to the visual impact of the Fazio Foothills, while the rolling terrain with frequent changes in elevation add to its many challenges for golfers. Creeks, streams and ponds figure into play on as many as seven holes. With five different sets of tees, the Foothills allow golfers at every level to dial in their challange.

Black tees: par-72, 7,085 yards, course rating 74.0, slope rating 138.

Gold tees: par-72, 6,684 yards, course rating 72.1, slope rating 133.

Blue tees: par-72, 6,290 yards, course rating 70.5, slope rating 130.

White tees: par-72, 5,900 yards, course rating 68.9, slope rating 127.

White tees(W): par-72, 5,900 yards, course rating 73.8, slope rating 127.

Red tees: par-72, 5,185 yards, course rating 69.4, slope rating 115.

Play as a member/guest not a resort guest for best price, or get a package deal at the resort. One of 3 courses each day is designated for BCCC members only with better pace of play. Greens were punched last week, so they discounted fee. Enjoy the elevation.

Rough was too high, due to high rains and not recently cut. Fairways just cut and a lot of loose grass. Many greens are damaged and were fuzzy cut.

Private course. Must stay at the resort to play this course, and the resort is very expensive.

For the most part, all of the Barton Creek (4) courses were nice to play and in good condition. THe two Fazio courses and the Crenshaw course were, in my opinion, much better than the Palmer course. However, while the courses are very good and the rooms are very nice, the management team in the pro shop and at the hotel are NOT very good. We had a group of 24 guys who golfed there for four days. They misplaced one guys clubs on two successive days.
