Colo Vista Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Bastrop, Texas.
Colo Vista Country Club opened in 1997. The course was designed by Les Appelt.
At ColoVista, you will enjoy two distinctive styles of golf in one memorable round. The front nine plays as a 'Texas Style Links' course while the back nine features a 'Hill Country Design' with dramatic elevation changes and stunning river bluff views.
The first nine holes are situated in the valley and gradually ascend to higher ground. The signature par-3, No. 15 features a 100-foot elevation change from tee to green, requiring golfers to be mindful of club selection. The view of the Colorado River from the raised tee box is jaw-dropping and starts a string of stunning finishing holes.
Colo Vista plays to a par 72. The course has 5 sets of tee boxes with the shortest playing to 4,803 yards and the longest playing to 7,021 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 607 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 158 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, the 468 yard par-4 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Colo Vista Country Club is # 13, a 170 yard par-3.
Colo Vista Country Club closed in 2009 by the Estate of the previous owner. The course was reopened in 2013. This is a true rising from the ashes story where some of the course was damaged by the wildfires of 2011 but many of the majestic pine trees remain and the greens are fantastic. The golf course has been renovated, Pro Shop/Clubhouse has been remodeled.
