Leon Valley Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Belton, Texas.
The course first opened for play in 1968.
This fairly easy layout has no bunkers and water only comes into play on one hole. The holes are typically straight away, redundant in style, as well are the greens which are small and circular in shape.
The signature hole is #15 requiring all shots to be hit directly into the prevailing wind.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,552 yards
White tees: par-72, 5,691 yards
Red tees: par-72, 5,370 yards
The course closed on 23 August 2009.
In May 2018, The Belton City Council, in a unanimous decision on Tuesday, approved the $2.1 million purchase of an 84.25-acre tract of the former Leon Valley Golf Course, growing the Heritage Park from 65 acres to nearly 150 acres.
The purchase — which includes 60 percent of the golf course’s water rights to the nearby Leon River — will be final by June 1, 2018. Each acre will cost $25,000.
