Detailed description

Maridoe Golf Club, previously named The Honors Golf Club Dallas and for most of its history named the Columbian Country Club of Dallas, is a, 18 hole golf course located in Carrollton, Texas.

The Columbian Country Club of Dallas dated to 1881. It was originally the exclusive club for the Jewish community, in large part started because of denial to join other clubs based on religious prejudice.

The Columbian Club purchased land in Carrollton in the early 1950's. They opened a 9 hole, Ralph Plummer designed course in 1955. Leon Howard added the second nine which opened in 1960. The course was renovated by Joe Finger - 1971, and D.A. Weibring - 1999.

Actually, the current Maridoe Golf Course shares little, other than the location with the Columbian / Honors Cub Golf Course. The course is owned by oil tycoon and uber golf enthusiast Albert Huddleston. He purchased the property in 2014. The course was completely redesigned and reopened in 2017. The new design was the work of Steve Smyers.

The course has small, fast greens, and numerous water hazards. Water comes into play on 14 holes.

The course has five sets of tees and measures 7,834 yards from the tips with a rating of 80.5 and a slope of 155. The next set of tees is 7,311 yards with a rating of 76.7 and a slope of 150.

The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 641 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 182 yards from the back tees.
