The Original 18 hole course, The East/West first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Ken Dye. The 3rd nine (The North Course) opened in 1998 and was designed by Jeff Brauer.
Painted Dunes, is a true desert golf course, with views of the Franklin Mountains framing many golf shots.
This desert-style links layout, designed by Ken Dye of New Mexico's Pinon Hills and Paa-Ko Ridge design fame, is packaged around artificial mounding, small lakes and traverses toward large undulating bentgrass greens, which typical of Dye, are elevated and surrounded by treacherous bunkers well below the putting surfaces.
Five different sets of tees give the golfers a choice of playing the East-West nine combination at 6,925 yards or less. The score card shown is for the East-West combination.
The North Course tees are set at 3,460, 3,202, 2,982, and 2,788 yards and plays to a par of 36 for 9 holes.
