Ideal Golf Ranch first opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Don Doherty.
The Ideal Golf Ranch Golf Course is a medium length, but challenging course. It has been strategically laid out in and amongst some of the oldest oak trees in Texas. This course is fun, enjoyable and excellent for seniors, juniors and ladies alike. The greens are small, medium speed and vary in undulation. Some are two-tiered and contain many subtle breaks. The fairways are tree lined, extremely narrow and vary between flat and rolling. Two unique holesat the Ideal Golf Ranch Golf Course are, #2, a 108-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot down a narrow, heavily tree-lined fairway to the green. The tee on this hole overlooks the course, the surrounding area and the largest golf ball in Texas, which is this course's logo. Hole #7 requires a tee shot to a well-protected, two-tiered green, which is set in the middle of many mature oak trees. This course truly offers target golf at its best.
Ideal Golf Ranch meaures 6,400 yards from the back tees and a par-70. The course rating is 70.0 with a slope rating of 113.
