Hondo Golf Course

Hondo Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Hondo, Texas.

Hondo Golf Course first opened for play in July 1954.

Hondo Golf Course was originally a military course at Hondo Air Base.Built 4 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor in a record 90 days, April to July of 1942. It was the largest navigation school in the world. The base closed in August 1945, having trained 14,158 navigators. The base again trained pilots during the Korean Conflict. The base closed and was turned over to the City of Hondo in 1958.

The course is a "flat-links" type layout with trees, 13 bunkers, and no water hazards. The 9-hole course plays to a par 36 with 2 sets of Tees. Maximum yardage of the golf course is 2,982 yards.
