Quail Valley is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Missouri City, Texas. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are The La Quinta Course and The El-Dorado Course.
Quail Valley, The La Quinta Course, originally opened for play in 1970. The course was designed by Johnny Miller. La Quinta is a par 72 course. The course plays to 6,816 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 72.3 and the slope rating is 130.
Quail Valley is located in Missouri City, Texas and was the first master planned community in Fort Bend County. The community was originally built around 3 golf courses (El-Dorado, La Quinta, and Executive). Quail Valley once hosted the 1973 and 1974 Houston Open and continues to host numerous local and regional tournaments. The Executive Course closed in 2006 and The El-Dorado Course closed in 2007. The El-Dorado Course reopened in 2009.
The former Q. V. Country Club was taken over by the City of Missouri City in July 2008. Four Hundred acres of green space lies in the center of Quail Valley. Several hundred homes directly adjacent to this property enjoy the rolling terrain. The City of Missouri City now manages the two 18-hole golf courses. The remaining 155 acres will be offering other recreational opportunities for residents to enjoy.
