Texas State, San Marcos Golf Course, previously named Southwest Texas Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in San Marcos, Texas.
The course first opened for play in 1929.
This executive course features narrow fairways. The San Macros River headwaters feed into spring lake which has a river like section coming off the lake that bisects the golf course. There are also trees lining the fairways and a few strategically placed bunkers.
Par for the course is 34. From the back tees, the course plays to 2,602 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,083 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-4 that plays to 355 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 173 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 355-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 7, a 274 yard par-4.

It was announced on June 1st that the course which had been closed since October 2015 because of $1.2 million in flood damage. The university has decided not to repair and reopen the golf course, instead, they will construct recreational fields on the site over the next three to five years.
