Tawakoni Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Quinlan, Texas.
Tawakoni Golf Club first opened for play in 1971. John and Bill Lively, this course's original golf professionals, are brothers who designed and built this course.
The course is primarily flat with several large oak trees and out-of-bounds stakes lining its narrow fairways. The course can get difficult because of the stiff lake breeze of Lake Tawakoni that pounds the course. The design features tough approaches into greens that snake back into the trees.
# 7 is near the lake. The tee box offers a pleasing view of the water and the uphill, doglegging shot is perfect for a fade, but dangerous because of the water right. The lake looms left, and the approach involves carrying the creek that fronts the green. This great hole goes 465 yards from the tips.
The final three holes offer a tough stretch of golf. Starting with the number one handicap, 425-yard No. 16, and followed by #17, a long par 4 and a #18, a 530-yard par 5.
