Mariners Landing Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1993. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The course has been rennovated by Mark McCumber.
The par 72 course has five different sets of tee boxes, offering fun and challenging golf to all levels of golfers, from beginner to professional.
This heavily-wooded course was built near Smith Mountain Lake. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are small. There are water hazards coming into play on more than half the holes. The mountain backdrop and Smith Mountain Lake provide for some spectacular views. The course is really spread out. Mariners Landing is very hilly as would be expected from a course in the mountians.
