Chambers Bay

Chambers Bay is an 18 hole up-scale public golf course located in University Place, Washington.

Chambers Bay opened to accolades in 2007. Less than 9 months later, it was selected to be the site of the 2015 U.S. Open. Wow! The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr..

This is a links style course designed for walking. Unless you have a disability, you are not getting a cart. Caddies are available, but not required.

With Puget Sound providing the backdrop to Chambers Bay, the layout winds through a coastal setting, among dunes and native grasses. The Olympic Mountains rim the western shore. The course was built over the site of a sand and gravel quarry. The Douglas fir behind the 15th green is the only tree on Chambers Bay. 

Chambers Bay is located just outside of Tacoma and only 60 miles from Seattle.

Par for Chambers bay is 70. The par-70 course has two holes - 1 and 18 - that can change daily from par-4s to par-5s. The course has 5 sets of tee boxes ranging from 5,253 yards to the Teal boxes set at 7,585 yards. Watch out for the par 5 hole number 8. There is a reason it is the #1 handicap hole on the course.
