The course first opened for play on May 1, 1927, as a 9 hole course. A second nine was added in 1931 expanding the course to 18 holes.
The course has rolling terrain, mature tree-lined fairways, doglegs, and numerous bunkers. Additionally, five water hazards, four of which were added in 2010-2011 provide for a challenging round of golf.
