Shannon Kahahane was born in Hawaii on the island on Maui. His grandfather taught him the game of golf at the age of 8. Shortly thereafter his family moved to Sunnyvale in Northern California. He attended high school at Fremont High. After graduating, he joined the US Navy, and was enlisted from 1986 to 1996. Serving as a Hospital Corpsman. While serving in the Navy, Shannon participated in the All Navy Golf Program. After his military service, he attended Foothill College in Los Altos, CA and played on the men’s golf team for two years while making the Deans List. This led to Shannon deciding to pursue his passion of becoming a PGA Professional. He was elected to full membership on August 1, 2004. Shannon has held the title of Head Golf Professional, 1st assistant, golf instructor, and Lincoln High School golf coach over his career. Currently Shannon is an instructor at Lincoln Hills GC. He also manages and teaches in several PGA Hope classes in the greater Sacramento area. He loves to teach the game of golf, to new golfers, Jr. golfers, amateurs, military veterans, and professionals alike.
