Mike O'Grady, PGA has been the Head Golf Professional at Lake Waramaug Country Club, New Preston, CT since 1998. Originally from Keene, NH he played all sports in high school and started playing golf seriously after graduating from college at the University of New Hampshire.Mike has been a PGA member for over 25 years and served as the President of the Connecticut Section PGA from 2013-2014 after first having served as a Section Board of Director 2006-2008, Section Secretary 2009-2010 and Vice President 2011-2012.The Lake Waramaug Country Club golf shop is considered by colleagues and members to be one of the best in Northwest Connecticut offering a fully stocked shop of equipment, apparel and accessories for men, women and junior golfers. Mike is highly respected as a teacher among club members and other golfers in the local community. Coaching and teaching lessons for non members are available through club members, past clients and friends.Mike coaches the Lake Waramaug CC PGA Junior League Team . The program is open to boys and girls ages 5-13 and started out with 17 players in 2020. The team has grown to 37 players in just three years. Players on the Junior League Team learn the fundamentals of the game of golf and receive experience in playing the game through team friendly matches set up on short courses that are ideal for learning the game. The success of the program is based on kids having fun and in enhancing the physical and the learning skills of all players, regardless of age or ability.
