Oak Grove first opened for play in 1998. The course was designed by Steven Halberg.
The Oak Grove Golf Course is designed as a premier daily-fee golf operation, covering 223-acres of rolling terrain with a mixture of open fields, wetlands, meadows, woods and timber, and ponds.
The course was layed out with a serious golfer in mind, the golf course plays over 7,000 yards from the back tees and just 5,254 yards from the forward tees. Oak Grove will challenge your abilities and mental game to the utmost, whether you are a scratch golfer or beginning player. Five tee placements on each hole ensure excitement for every skill level. Strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and wetlands enhance the challenge. Ranked one of the Chicago District Golf Association's top-25 toughest public courses.
The golf course features bentgrass fairways, tees, and greens, and is integrated within over fifty acres of wetlands, ponds, and native prairie plantings. Oak Grove Golf Course received Certified Audubon Signature Sanctuary status from Audubon International as an environmentally planned and sustainable environmental project.
