Dan Bubany (PGA), a native of Tucson, Arizona fell in love with golf at the age of 19 while a sophomore at Arizona State University. After graduating in 2002 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Minors in Spanish and Business, Dan went to work as a Sports Director at KPLC-TV (NBC) in Lake Charles, Louisiana,Two weeks before hurricanes Rita and Katrina nearly destroyed the station in August of 2005, Dan took a job as Sports Reporter at WHNS-TV (FOX) in Greenville, South Carolina. Less than a year later, he became Sports Director and won his first Emmy Award for his sports segment in the Best Newscast of 2008,When the station News Department absorbed the Sports Department later that year, Dan became co-anchor of The Morning News and later won another Emmy for News Reporting in 2011.Dan moved back to Arizona to be closer to his family in the fall of 2011. After working as a Membership Representative for the National Federation of Independent Business, Dan further sharpened his sales and networking skills as a Senior Account Manager for The Fruth Group, an IT services company based in Phoenix.In January of 2015, Dan decided to take his game to the next level by enrolling at the Golf Academy of America in the Phoenix area. Shortly after graduation, in May of 2016, Dan accepted a position as an Assistant Golf Professional at La Paloma Country Club in Tucson, a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course managed by Scottsdale-based Troon Golf.Dan is a PGA Class A Professional, a Callaway Golf Professional Staff Member, and a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach. He is also the only golf professional in Southern Arizona to be Opti Brain Certified. When he’s not golfing around Tucson, Dan can be found hanging out with his wife, two sons, and their menagerie of two cats and a dog.
